This Privacy Policy explains how ArcadeOn Studios ("ArcadeOn", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the ArcadeOn Engine website at https://arcadeonengine.app (the "Site") and use the desktop ArcadeOn Engine 2.0 Alpha application (the "Engine"). Together, the Site and the Engine are the "Services".
During the 2.0 Alpha we do not offer user accounts, sign-in, or paid features. This policy reflects that scope.
Information we collect
On the Site
- Analytics and usage data — IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and similar diagnostics, collected through Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Hotjar. See our Cookie Policy for the exact list of cookies.
- Cookie-consent state — your accept / reject / per-category preference for non-essential cookies is stored in your browser so that we don't ask again on every visit.
- Communications — if you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message.
In the Engine
- The desktop Engine runs locally on your machine. It does not send your project files, scenes, scripts, or game assets to ArcadeOn.
- The Engine writes settings, save games, autosaves, and crash logs to
%APPDATA%\ArcadeOn\on your computer. - If a crash occurs, you can choose to send a diagnostics bundle to us from the in-editor Support panel. We only receive what you choose to send.
- The Engine includes an opt-in update check that contacts our manifest server to see if a newer version is available. The check transmits no personal data.
We do not run user-level analytics inside the desktop Engine during the 2.0 Alpha.
How we use information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and the Engine.
- Measure traffic, find broken pages, and understand which features people read about.
- Respond to support emails and process diagnostic bundles you choose to send.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents and abuse of the Site.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site to make it work, remember your preferences, and measure traffic. See our Cookie Policy for a full breakdown, including the names of each cookie, who sets it, what it does, and how to manage your preferences.
Sharing and disclosure
We share limited information with:
- Service providers that operate the Site for us (web hosting, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Hotjar).
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not run advertising on the Site.
Data retention
- Site analytics records are retained according to the default settings of each provider (typically 14–26 months for Google Analytics, up to 365 days for Hotjar).
- Support emails are retained for as long as we reasonably need them to handle your request and any follow-up.
- Local files written by the Engine on your computer (settings, save games, autosaves, crash logs) remain on your computer until you delete them; uninstalling the Engine preserves
%APPDATA%\ArcadeOn\projects.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@arcadeonstudios.co.uk.
Children's privacy
The Services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
International transfers
If you access the Services from outside the United Kingdom, your information may be transferred to and processed in the UK or other locations where our service providers operate (for example, Google Analytics processes data in the United States).
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data. No system is 100% secure; please report any vulnerability you discover to hello@arcadeonstudios.co.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post updates here with a new "Last updated" date.
